The continuation of our work in Terras da Costa neighborhood focused on the preparation of an internal and external social mediation structure in order to promote the necessary empowerment of the inhabitants. This way the community was able to embrace a long and complex process accompanied by a set of technicians.

The object of this process was to identify the potential and needs of the neighbourhood, supported by a diagnostic work and collective mapping carried out between technicians and the population.

This work started a rehousing participatory process supported by the creation of a specific model to inhabit.

This model was inspired from the neighborhood and housing diferent scales and specificities searching for the best solutions of integration of this particular community in the consolidated urban network.

Through the implementation of an action-research process, it was possible to build the foundations for a hypothetical rehousing process searching for a disruptive solution in comparison to the traditional well-knowned rehousing models.

This approach was the answer for the starting of a rehousing process that doesn’t break with the already existing proximity and intra-community networks.

From this extensive process and teamwork between the technicians involved and the community of the Terras da Costa neighborhood, a book has been produced with a complete record of the process from its beginning to the presentation of concrete hypotheses that close the period of investigation.
