Memory Room – Sala da Memória – is a cubic structure in spruce wood. It is a room inside a room that opens itself to the city and invites people to cross it.

Bespoke made for the gallery space Galeria da Boavista in Lisbon, the construction of this object builds upon the structure of the shoji, traditional Japanese architectural elements, used for the division of spaces inside the home while allowing light to travel through.

It is part of the exhibition Radial Body – Corpo Radial – by artists Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela, curated by Susana Ventura and promoted by Lisbon’s City Hall.
